I understand some people's reservations about this product, but I was careful about what I bought and if you are too you won't have a problem. I chose to buy the current 6-quart model (with the hinged lid and digital timer) of the CrockPot brand slow cooker because this is a CrockPot brand bag. I figured the bag would most likely conform best to CrockPot brand products.

I can't comment on other brands, but the 6-quart model is a perfect fit for this bag. I don't know if CrockPot sells a 7-quart model, but the 6-quart is PLENTY big. I don't think the CrockPot brand can be responsible for the fit of other brand slow cookers.

On a separate note, the photo is a little misleading, but on the positive side. It looks like there's just one long shoulder strap, but there are actually 2 shorter straps that gather above the bag, which to me seems like it would allow for more even handling during transport. This crock-pot cover was shown to be sold with the Hamilton Beach 7 qt crockpot. I own both brands. It does not fit on the Hamilton Beach due to the handles not allowing the zipper to close. It is awesome on the Rival, and keeps the lid in place and food was hot an hour later at a church brunch. Well worth my investment.

I bought this travel bag to replace one my dogs had chewed up. This bag does what the old one did--keeps food nice and hot for hours, that is, even with the crock pot turned off. But there have been some improvements: a nice long strap to sling over your shoulder and an inside strap that cleverly slips through not only the side handles of the crock pot but also through the lid handle, and snugs up with velcro to minimize sloshing food on the inside of the bag.

I promised myself that I wasn't going to buy any more kitchen appliances. I have too many already. However, my boiled eggs have always been overcooked and rubbery, and I just knew that there must be a way to avoid that. When I read the description and reviews on this device, I bought one.

It came today and I immediately gave it a try. I had three Eggland's Best eggs that I wanted to hard boil for dinner. The operation is intuitive. I used the measuring cup mark for water for three hard cooked eggs, pierced the large end of the eggs and placed them in the holder (pierced end up), put the domed lid on and flipped the switch to ON. About 17 minutes later, the soft beeping sound notified me of the completion of the cooking. I removed the lid, using the handles, and placed the eggs in a bowl of icewater using tongs.

There was no problem of live steam hitting my hands, as mentioned in another review here. In fact, at the point when the completion alarm rings, there is no steam... Read more

Hard-boiled eggs couldn't be easier in this egg cooker. You can't miss with this machine. Just use the measuring cup that comes with it to add water, the amount of water for the number of eggs you are making is conveniently printed on the measuring cup, pierce the large end of the egg, place it in the egg tray, pierced end up, put the cover on and turn the switch. That's it! You will hear a tone when they are done so you can't over cook them or make a mistake. I don't understand reviewers that complain about appliances that beep etc when what you are cooking is done. The sound the appliance makes enables you to multi task, clean, cook something else, fold laundry, whatever you want to do. Anyway, after you hear the tone, just remove the cover and lift the egg tray out, run them under cold water and you are done! Perfect eggs! And, both the cover and the tray has handles that stay nice and cool so it is safe and easy to remove them.

This thing cooks hard boiled eggs perfectly every time to the exact doneness you want. It's true that you have to be careful removing the lid after cooking, but it's easy enough to use mits or a kitchen towel to get around the danger. The poached eggs do come out in a triangular shape, but that really doesn't matter if you're eating them on toast or in a bowl. And regardless of their shape they still come out perfectly cooked. A great timesaver!

This is a very high quality, heavy weight canner. It practically screams, "Industrial strength!" The slide clips and screw-downs securely fasten the lid to the pot. No blow-outs with this baby. The weighted pressure gauge makes operation almost foolproof. And no gasket required! Before purchasing a canner, I did a lot of reading in the rec.food.preserving news group. I saw endless inquiries about sources for gaskets for canners ranging from a few years old to many decades old. It was clear some of these people had spent many, many hours in search of a gasket. Avoiding the need for a gasket became a major criteria for my purchase.

I've had my canner for a couple years and am still impressed with the quality. There are only two negatives I can think of. The heavy weight of the canner is a plus for strength and longevity, but it can work against you. The canner weighs 20 pounds when it's empty. I've had my Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry All American pressure canner for a couple of years, and I'm still very happy with the purchase. I can use it to make a humongous batch of chicken stock, then turn around and can that very batch... I agree with the comments made by the first two reviewers concerning its weight, size, etc. This will outlast you and your kids. Very well made, and the company has a full line of replacement parts should they ever be needed.

I give this five stars as a canner, and three as a cooker. The only reason I downrate it slightly as a cooker is that it is so big and unwieldy. If you regularly have to cook huge batches of food, though, this may be just what you need. If you don't ordinarily cook up enough to feed an army, you might be happier with a smaller (say, 6 to 8 quart) pressure cooker (I love my Kuhn Rikon 6 quart stockpot). Also: if you are planning to can a LOT of stuff, you might consider getting the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry model 930--it... Read more

send me the money and I'll throw it away for you. I received my Grandmother's when she passed away and have more that pleased with it. I can't add anything the other reviews other that mine is over 30 year old it is in perfect shape. I've been told that my Grandmother sent 1000's of cans through this in her day and I intend to do the same. The company's web site is very good if you need replacement parts but I doubt you'll ever need them. I had my local Ag extension agent test my gauge (the original) and it is still accurate enough for canning. This is the only part that should ever really need replacing since it does not have a seal. I am fortunate enough to have the old school Instruction and Recipes book (list price �60) that has canning recipes that I have not been able to find anywhere else. Buy this and pass it on to your grandchildren!!!
